MSM Presents Seminar on Protecting Your Business from Insiders and Outsiders
On October 16, 2014, McKeon Sheldon Mehling, LLLC hosted a free seminar in partnership with Maui Economic Development Board and Computer Hale on the importance of protecting your business from both insiders and outsiders. The seminar focused on the importance of protecting valuable business intellectual property assets, guarding against competitors and avoiding employee mistakes. The event drew nearly fifty participants from small business owners to individual entrepreneurs and offered a series of presentations from the firm’s attorneys and Computer Hale technology consultant, Erik McFrazier.
“The most valuable asset in your business is often the intellectual property, and business owners need to take precautions to protect it,” Shannon Sheldon said. “In light of the current technology, this means protecting it from both the outsiders, such as competitors, and even insiders, such as employees who inadvertently make mistakes in disclosing data and confidential information,” she added.
Following the presentations, participants were offered one-on-one time with the attorneys and McFrazier to ask individual questions.
